A big Buck?
This weekend at the ranch, I found this partial picture on one of my game cams!
Looks to be like it could be between a 12 and 14 point buck!! Look down in the bottom right of the picture..

I was checking out the Olympic Medal count and on the United States Page LINK HERE it listed our official Language as “No Official Language”! WHAT?!
How policially correct does our country have to be.. ENGLISH is the official language of the United States of America! I’ll be the first to admit that we need to make more of an effort to learn a 2nd or 3rd language but come on! That is crazy!
Here is a link to an offical US Government website with the answer to what is the official language of the United States of America. It’s funny that it urges you to write your congressman if you would like the US to adopt an official language. We should all make requests to our Congressman to adopt English as the offical language but the requests should be written in Spanish! LOL!
While we are adopting English as the Official Language, we should go ahead and adopt Jessica Simpson as the OFFICIAL Woman!

Today was a Ranch day and on the list of to do’s was building a fence around my valley game feeder…
First stop was Country Boy’s Feed and Supply to pick up cattle panels and fence posts. The wire panels were a little bigger than I had hoped so we had to get creative when loading them…
Here is the drivers view as we headed for the ranch..
I felt like Mad Max driving down the road with the 20′ long welded wire cattle panels strapped to the top of my truck.
At the end of a hard days work, the fence around the feeder is done.. The hogs will HOPEFULLY have a hard time getting in there to steal food from the Elk and Deer!
Way to go Texas!!

My favorite quote from the story is “In order for teachers and staff to carry a pistol, they must have a Texas license to carry a concealed handgun; must be authorized to carry by the district; must receive training in crisis management and hostile situations and have to use ammunition that is designed to minimize the risk of ricochet in school halls.”
I agree! It’s aways a good idea to minimize the risk of ricochet in the school halls!
Way to go Texas! The first state to allow teachers to protect our children!
Readers of my blog know that two weeks ago, an engergy drink sent me to the ER with heart issues.. I’m currently wearing a heart monitor to track the fun rythems that my heart is now in since the madness started.

I wasn’t suprised today when I found this story in the the Times.
Excerpt from the article
Dr. Scott Willoughby, of the Cardiovascular Research Center at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Adelaide University, said he was “alarmed” at the results of his survey.
“After one can it seemed to turn the young individual into one with more of the type of profile you would expect to see with someone with cardiovascular disease,” he said.

Russia’s attacks on Georgia are unbelievable to say the least. This video shows just how “out of control” things have gotten in Georgia.
Reporter Tamara Urushadze was shot in the arm by a Russian sniper during a live broadcast. Video is below.
After a tense decision in favor of his opponent, Swedish Wrestler Ara Abrahamian showed the worst Olympic sportsmanship that I had ever seen by walking off the medal stand and throwing his medal to the mat.

WOW! This looks pretty freakin’ painful..
Excerpt from Daily Mail:
This is the moment Hungarian weightlifter Janos Baranyai’s first Olympics ended in agony when he dislocated his right elbow in the ugliest moment yet of the Olympic weightlifting competition.
Baranyai was trying to snatch 148kg in his third lift in the men’s 77kg division, when his elbow popped out of its socket.
No longer able to support the weight of the barbell, his right forearm bent backward. The 24-year-old Hungarian fell to the floor in shock, shaking and crying out in pain.
Hungary’s coaching staff and competition officials rushed to Baranyai’s aid as he lay trembling on the floor, his arm limp and twisted out of position.

Yesterday at Bass Pro Shop, I met Gayne C. Young an accomplished outdoor write for most of the popular sporting magazines and also the author of “Texas Safari”.

I had a chance to thumb through the book and it seems like a great resource for Texas hunters. Even includes information about legendary Texas Trophy, Auodad aka Barbary Sheep. I see alot of Auodads on my ranch and have found info on them scarce.
