Today wasn’t much a picture day. I headed down to Orange county for additiona meetings and demos then headed back up to Hollywood.
Since the MTV crew is staying at the Legendary Roosevelt Hotel across the street from Grauman’s Chinese Theater, I took a down night to catch a move at this historical site.

I have my ticket for a showing of "Death Race" at Grauman's
Had a few minutes before the show started so I took the opportunity to check out some of the Movie Star footprints in front of Grauman’s..

I was excited to see R2-D2, C3PO and Darth Vader immortalized in cement

Wanted to see how I sized up with the Duke! WOW! He had pretty small feet.

Had to take this one for my buddy from the Arena Football League, Micah Tannenbaum aka Mitch T-Bong
Heading back to the hotel after the party, I was hungry.. I decided to stop in at the hotel restauraunt, “25 Degrees”… I was a little suprised to see hordes of people standing outside the hotel with cameras… As I’m getting ready to walk in, out burst Paris Hilton with her friends in tow..

Paris Hilton leaves the Roosevelt Hotel restaurant, 25 Degrees
She walked right by me to get in her car and was hammered by photographers.. It was funny, Here is the 2nd picture that I tried to take..

Imagine if you will that this is a picture of Paris Hilton getting into here SUV..
Had to be an hour south of LA for a demo by 8am! Joy.. At least I had a sweet Mustang convertible to make the drive a little more bearable..
I arrived back in LA early afternoon and it was off to the club, Level 3 to set up for the MTV Tr3s party.
I hate to say it but I have no idea what the names of the bands were but I did recognize some of the music they played. 😉

Legendary TriCaster Guru, Bob Anderson is ready for the show
An interesting piece of trivia, the area we were in is owned by actor, Ken Davitian who starred in Borat and Get Smart.. He was hanging out during our setup..

The line ran almost all the way around the 2nd level!
Yes.. I got my moment of Red Carpet Fame..
It’s funny, it seems like every year at the VMA’s, a group of girls thinks I’m somebody famous and asks me for my picture.. Since it’s a nice ego boost, I obliged and even had them take a shot with my camera.. LOL!
I had to got out of the production room for a second and got a great shot of the band on stage. (Will add band name once I find it out)
The show was a HUGE success! We all had a blast and the TriCaster performed flawlessly..
One the way out, we did a few more red carpet photos that I wanted to share..

I call this photo "The Girls of Jacobs" both have served as assistants to Jeff Jacobs.. Mindy Moran, Philip Nelson & Hannah Depew
Today was our first day of VMA fun on Los Angeles..
On Wedensday, I arrived in LA to setup for our TriCaster VMA Action..
First order of business was to get a rental car.. I must be living right because hertz upgraded me to a Mustang Convertible for FREE!
Check it out!

I headed down to the Paramount Studio to help get set up for the VMA streaming.. We actually setup a TriCaster on the roof of the Paramount Theater to stream the building of the red carpet.

Jim Will gets a camera ready for the red carpet webcast
On the way back to the MTV production office, we walked by the Transformers set and I couldn’t resist taking a picture with BUMBLEBEE!!

The official Bumblebee from Transformers!
After leaving the Paramount lot, I headed down to my first Hollywood “fashion” party.. One of my clients Mark Scarpa is using a TriCaster Broadcast to stream live shows from a trendy new fashion spot “Live! on Sunset”. WOW! Did I feel underdressed in Vans, Jeans and a TriCaster shirt. Cool place!

Yes! That is a Rolls Royce in the parking lot!
Have been up since 5am CST (3am PST), I was so tired that I sold out my MTV friends that were waiting on me for dinner.. Off to bed and ready for Day 2.
Was watching Leno tonight and Eva Longoria Parker made an appearance to promote an upcoming awards show.
Being a Spurs fan, I know who she is but I’ve never seen her do an interview before. I must admit, she seems like a VERY COOL person! Even shock comedian Russell Brand didn’t get to her with his off color jokes. I love the way she ended the interview.. She reaches into her shirt and pulls out some M&M’s to give to Jay and Russell..
Great interview! Way to go Tony. She seems totally cool!
As my blog readers know, I’m heading to LA this week as a Technical Consulatant for the MTV VMA’s.. Our hotel is right around the corner from Eva’s restaurant Beso. Because of her coolness, I’m going to take as my people as I can round up for dinner there.. That is IF we can get in!

Ok.. For those that know me, you won’t be suprised to hear that I’ve found a new hobby.. Paintball. It started with my son requesting a Paintball birthday party. During my research for his party, I started looking to the costs of buying a paintball gun. WOW! You can really spend some cash on paintball. One of my long time NewTek clients runs an awesome paintball website called
War Pig. He gave me some advice on which paintball gun.. Opps.. that should be paintball marker to keep from scaring people away from the sport.. 😉 Being the cheapskate that I am, I turned to eBay for a more affordable alternative.
Got a GREAT deal on a Tippman Custom 98 with mask and paintball hopper for just $40 including shipping.
When the gun arrived, a bunch of NewTekkers took turns shooting paintballs at Tim’s outdoor pizza oven.. Sorry Tim.. Wow! What a blast..
Here is a shot of Irene King taking out her aggression on a stack of pallates behind NewTek

On Saturday, I took the paintball gun to the ranch. My son Noel had a great time shooting a little target practice with our new gun. Notice that I added a $4 roll of camo tape to the gun to make it look super sweet..

Noel takes aim at some aggressive boards.. 🙂
