Is America acting like a GIANT Ostrich?

Everyone knows the stereotypical behavior of the ostrich.. When trouble comes, it hides it’s head and ignores/hides from the threat…

It’s amazing to see the media, our politicians and the average citizen deny the fact that our country is facing SERIOUS problems! The value of the dollar is dropping like an anchor, the price of gas is rising with no ceiling in site and we have given most of our manufactruing expertise to other countries.

I must admit I’m VERY neverous about the “State o’ the Union”… As any alchololic knows, the first step to recovery is actually taking responsiblity and admitting that there is a problem.. So far, I haven’t seen America take it’s first step to recovery. đŸ˜‰

How bad can it get? Credit card companies continue to recklessly extend credit to people who really have no way of digging themselves out of the debt grave and mortgage companies expect the good ol’ taxpayer to paid for this mistakes.

What can the average american do? I’m not sure but one thing that will definitely help is to try to get out of debt. My number one objective right now is to pay off as much as I can and become debt free. (I’m sure Dave Ramsey would be proud.) I’m also trying to stop wasting money on crap.. It’s surprising how much the average American family eats out, is suckered into impluse buys at Wal-Mart and wastes their way into bankrupcy…

I hear the media talk about how the government is going to stop the economic slide by giving everyone a little CASH and urging them to spend aka Waste it.. Why not come up with a plan that encourages other countries to spend money with US! (Pun Intended)

Ok.. rant mode off..

It will be interesting to see how things look in the next 12 months..

Later,
Philip
