I love movies that make you think.. Movies that mix social commentary with what “could” happen. Some films along these lines that come to mind are I Am Legend, Minority Report and Soylent Green.
Looks like this summer holds another movie that will make you think, “Repo Men”. The premise is very cool. In the future, you can get almost any organ replaced by a artificial, high tech replacement. The cost is high but with good credit, you can be saved.. There is one catch.. Get behind on your payments, and the Repo Men come to visit.
Last night during the Super Bowl, the Twitter Jam Band did a live webcast performance called “The Other Half Time Show”. The concept: The Who finished their Super Bowl half time show, the Twitter Jam Band took the virtual stage. From a house in Alamo Heights, we did a live webcast to help raise money for a friends double lung transplant. KSAT news was there to cover the story.
If you would like more information about the webcast or maybe even watch the performance visit TheOtherHalfTimeShow.org

For years, I’ve been saying that cell phones will be the Cigarette of our generation.
I use my cell phone a TON! It’s my main link to clients, email, etc. That said, I won’t allow my kids to use cell phones on a regular basis.. If I’m talking to my Dad, I may let them talk to him for just a few minutes but other than that, my kids are… CELL FREE. Who knows what cell phone radiation does to developing brains!
If you use a cell phone you NEED to read the article from GQ that is linked below! It’s a real eye opener. Here is an excerpt.
Interphone researchers reported in 2008 that after a decade of cell-phone use, the chance of getting a brain tumor—specifically on the side of the head where you use the phone—goes up as much as 40 percent for adults. Interphone researchers in Israel have found that cell phones can cause tumors of the parotid gland (the salivary gland in the cheek), and an independent study in Sweden last year concluded that people who started using a cell phone before the age of 20 were five times as likely to develop a brain tumor. Another Interphone study reported a nearly 300 percent increased risk of acoustic neuroma, a tumor of the acoustic nerve.
I’ve mentioned previously in my blog and on facebook that I have a new found respect for Lady GaGa.. In an era of Lip Sync and fraudulent performances, Lady G really delivers on all aspects of her show. She writes music, she ACTUALLY sings, she plays and she entertains.. Wanted to take this opportunity to share some interesting Lady GaGa clips of her live shows.

Bummer.. Ellen has locked everyone out of embedding this clip.. you have to watch on YouTube Great performance and worth the watch.
Thank you so much for your submission to be considered for the VH1 Classic show “Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp.” We had a great response and a ton of amazing submissions. The cast has been selected by the network. Unfortunately, you were not chosen for this season’s show.
Please keep in touch, as we hope VH1 will be begging us to make many more seasons to come.
Regards, Dean Houser Supervising Producer Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp
Maybe someone will washout of the show and I’ll get the call!

This week at the ESPN X Games in Aspen, Co, Noel Nelson took 2nd place in the FUSE Snowskate Freestyle Jam. Out of over 15 contestants, Noel’s Manual Rail grind pushed him to the top of the back.
“Winning 2nd in the snowskate competition was amazing,” said Nelson. “Having only seen snow twice in my life, beating 18 other kids was pretty sweet.”

SAN ANTONIO – January 28, 2010 – NewTek Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, today announced that its TriCaster™ TCXD300 high definition/standard definition (HD/SD) portable live production systems and 3PLAY™ HD/SD slow motion replay systems will provide live venue video and instant replay at the ESPN Winter X Games® 14 in Aspen, Colo., January 28 to 31. Two TriCaster/3PLAY live production teams will replace and expand the capabilities that were previously provided by an expensive TV truck.
“Winter X Games is the world’s premier action sports event and our fans expect us to push the limit not only in sports but in the fan experience,” said Kate Nelligan, live event programming producer, ESPN X Games. “NewTek TriCaster and 3PLAY allow us to produce more live exclusive content for each venue, bringing the fans even closer to the action.”

Philip & Noel Nelson at Buttermilk. Getting ready for the ESPN Winter X Games
I’m here in Aspen, Co getting ready for TriCaster’s big debut at the ESPN Winter X Games! Wow! What an exciting project to be involved with!
Everyone knows about the television broadcast but unless you have attended one of these events, most don’t realize that there is another show being made… In Venue video!
With thousands of fans on site to be part of the action, there is no way that everyone can have a front row seat. That is where the LED video boards come in. TriCaster is powering the in venue video for the first time at Winter X! I’ll try to post some cool pics and stories of the action here in Aspen throughout the weekend.
One lesson that I’ve learned so far.. Dr. Martins are HORRIBLE on the ice and snow. I’ve busted twice.. Not just a slip but a feet above head wipeout. I have a feeling I’ll be buying some different boots just to survive the week.
TriCaster, 3Play and Live make up each of the two TriCaster production teams.
