My Lucky Day – New singer discovered in Lottery Ad
Music is weird… Sometimes year hear a song and love it the first time you year it. This is rare but every few years it happens.. Some songs that come to mind are “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt, “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns and Roses, “viva la vida” by Coldplay…
A few weeks ago, it happened again. I head this song on the radio called “Lucky Day” that had me hooked by the first chorus. I loved the tone of the female singers voice and the song was so catchy.. Imagine my surpise when I heard the tag line promoting the Texas Lottery. This is probably the first time that I would be willing to pay for a copy of this “jingle”.
Did a little research and discovered that the song was sung by a singer from Dallas, TX named Camille Cortinas and her band is called Fishing For Comets. I will definitely be checking them out ASAP!
Hey Camille.. If you happen to read this, I need an MP3 of that song!
Update: Coming soon I’ll be posting an interview with Camille Cortinas. Check back next the 2nd week of March.

I’m so glad to find this article. I had exactly the same reaction to this terrific piece of music. It’s the best thing on the radio these days. This music puts me in mind of the mid-period Beatles, Bangles, Go-Gos, the Corrs — melodic, effervescent. More, Camille!

Love that song/jingle! Been searching for the identity of the singer for a while. A lyrical tune with a wonderful lilt, and a sweet fresh voice. Thanks for doing the research!

This was done by Juniper Music. It is a campaign so there are more similar songs with Camille in it.
