I feel like we are in the “perfect storm”. The economy is slowing down and prices for EVERYTHING are shooting skyward with no end in sight.
I wonder when the average guy on the street is going to… STOP!
Stop driving, stop eating out, stop buying toys for their kids, stop doing anything that it’s a necessity…
Last summer a 50lb bag of corn was around $3.50 today the same bag of corn costs $7.25. Rice, cooling oil and everything else is though the roof.
The more I read, the more I feel that we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg on inflation..
It’s amazing how draining a tradeshow can be. Whenever I think I’m too busy and have too much to do.. I always think of the scene in Jerry McGuire when he comes home after being fired, checks his answering machine and hears “No New Messages”… I’m thankful that TriCraster is such a hot product and that I have so many people interested in seeing it that I was booked all day today (30 minute meetings) with no lunch break and still didn’t get to all of the key accounts and press that wanted to see our new offerings.
I had the opportunity to interview two legends of boxing today at the NewTek booth, Sterling McPherson and Mike McCallum.

Wanted to let you know a little about these two legends of boxing and all around great guys.
Mike McCallum: Boxing Hall of Fame; 3 Time Champion — WBA Junior Middleweight Champion, WBA Middleweight Champion, WBC Light Heavyweight Champion; Record: Won 49 (36 KO), Lost 5, Drawn1. He was never knocked out.
Sterling McPherson: Called “Manager of the Decade” by HBO Sports in 2000, and “Manager of the Year” by the IBF in 1996 and 1997. He is also the editor of Boxing Illustrated.
It was an honor to meeting Sterling and Mike and the webcast today was a huge hit with their fans at the show and on the web.

This is a pretty weird story… Breaking news on CBS this morning, was that a Marilyn Monroe sex tape has emerged.
Link to Marilyn Monroe Sex Tape Story on CBS
Keya Morgan, Marilyn Monroe expert ran across this film that was shot in the 50’s and has remained hidden away for over 30 years. It’s funny that the uncovered FBI report described the tape as Marylin in “unatural acts”…
I’m sure Paris is proud.. 😉
Whew.. I can’t belive it’s only been one day. 😉
The excitement around TriCaster 2.0 and NewTek’s other announcements was amazing! Today, I had the honor of demoing TriCaster to some of the most powerful people in the broadcast television business. We also had an impressive lineup of VIP’s presenting in the NewTek booth including Gil Chavez of Knockout Digital (ESPN Radio) and Sterling McPherson, Editor of Boxing Illustrated Magazine.
Had to share a couple of pics from the show today..
As we prepared to open the show, I uncovered Graham Toms secret to a successful show.. Good Dental Hygene..
After a long day at NAB nothing is better than a good meal. We took our top 10 resellers to dinner at Lowrey’s Prime Rib in Vegas… I think the picture of the 600lb MEAT CART, speaks for its self…
Last night the NewTek party was awesome! Thanks to all my friends out ther that attended. Kiki was in her usual form, entertaining the crowd with her unstoppable energy.

A few weeks ago I posted a link about a cutting edge new robot called BigDog by Boston Dynamics. It’s a Star Wars AT-AT like quadraped robot that does some pretty amazing things.
Today, I ran across the funniest parody video I’ve seen in quite some time that pokes a little fun at BigDog. If you have seen the original BigDog video, I would highly recommend watching it first.
Original BigDog Video
Now for your viewing pleasure… The BigDog Beta..

I think this could qualify for the coolest TriCaster project I’ve worked on. Sure SuperBowl was sweet, the MTV VMA’s rocked but this concert is the blowout of all blowouts!
May 18th, 2008 we will set a record for the longest single webcast in TriCaster histrory by streaming the 12hr long Kiss Concert 08. The line up is insanely strong..
– The Jonas Brothers
– Natasha Bedingfeld
– New Kids on the Block
– Ferras
– Ray J
– Sean Kingston
– Boys Like Girls (I TD’ed their VMA Concert with TriCaster too)
– Flo Rida
– Wyclef Jean
– Leona Lewis
and MANY More..
Going to be a great day in TriCaster history…. Wish me luck.
Here is a video from my favorite artist being features, Natasha Bedingfeld.. Enjoy.
I guess the days of the stereotypical survivalist, the camo covered weekend warrior stockpiling guns and food, are a thing of the past. In our post-911/Katrina world, people are beginning to feel a need to be prepared. There was an interesting article in the New York Times about this trend..
Duck and Cover: It’s the New Survivalism
I must admit this is something that I’ve been thinking about for the past few months. It first hit me this year when I noticed the DRASTIC price increase in a corn. A 50lb bag of corn has gone from around $3.50 to $7.50 in less than 18 months. Rice and Wheat are at all time highs..
It leaves me wondering how much money I’ll save by buying next months food now.. Hmm.. What about next Octobers food now. I was surpised to find how little foodstorage info there is out there and how hard it is for the average person to find affordable foodgrade storage supplies.
After reading the NYT article I stumbled on a site that tells you how many days you could last if you and your family were trapped in your house with no access to the outside world.
Well.. I guess that is it for me tonight.. Excuse my while I put on my camo paint, crack open an MRE and watch “I Am Legend” again. 😉
I couldn’t resist posting about this video I found on YouTube. The funniest part is the comments from grandma at the end..
“It he draws on me again, I’ll shoot him in his “toodles”.. LOL
Enjoy
