This is the demo that started it all. The most stessful 6mintues of my life during Demo@15 2005. 2500 of the most powerful technology gurus were sitting in a darkend conference center as Jim Plant and I launched TriCaster to the world
Andy Marken’s latest newsletter has an article about Microsoft announcing that they are adding support for Blu-Ray Disc..
From the article:
“Toshiba has moved on. We’ve moved on, and we’ll support Blu-ray in ways that
make sense.” Chief executive of Microsoft Steve Ballmer.

For those of you that have been following your favorite NBA D-League team on the web, you probably already know that the D-League was the world first professional sports league to offer free live webcasts of all games! I had the honor of working with Dan Reed and his team to deploy TriCaster to all 14 D-League teams around the US.. As the D-League Showcase kicked off in Boise, ID, Dan gave TriCaster some props in his blog..
During the official webcast of the 59th Annual Techonogy and Engineering Emmy Awards, I was asked for an interview by the webcast team from TV Worldwide
During my visit to VON (Video on the Net) I had the honor of spending some time with Dave Gardy of VON.TV to discuss how TriCaster is leading the Internet Television revolution.

Here is an interesting article about current gas prices and commentary about high they may go in the upcoming weeks.

Current average gas price in America $3.20 / Gallon..
I feel that we are already into the gas price zone that is hurting the average American worker. When it costs $6.00 per day to drive back and forth to work it hurst workers of all levels and unfortunately, there is no end in sight.
Everyone knows the stereotypical behavior of the ostrich.. When trouble comes, it hides it’s head and ignores/hides from the threat…
It’s amazing to see the media, our politicians and the average citizen deny the fact that our country is facing SERIOUS problems! The value of the dollar is dropping like an anchor, the price of gas is rising with no ceiling in site and we have given most of our manufactruing expertise to other countries.
I must admit I’m VERY neverous about the “State o’ the Union”… As any alchololic knows, the first step to recovery is actually taking responsiblity and admitting that there is a problem.. So far, I haven’t seen America take it’s first step to recovery. 😉
How bad can it get? Credit card companies continue to recklessly extend credit to people who really have no way of digging themselves out of the debt grave and mortgage companies expect the good ol’ taxpayer to paid for this mistakes.
What can the average american do? I’m not sure but one thing that will definitely help is to try to get out of debt. My number one objective right now is to pay off as much as I can and become debt free. (I’m sure Dave Ramsey would be proud.) I’m also trying to stop wasting money on crap.. It’s surprising how much the average American family eats out, is suckered into impluse buys at Wal-Mart and wastes their way into bankrupcy…
I hear the media talk about how the government is going to stop the economic slide by giving everyone a little CASH and urging them to spend aka Waste it.. Why not come up with a plan that encourages other countries to spend money with US! (Pun Intended)
Ok.. rant mode off..
It will be interesting to see how things look in the next 12 months..
Later,
Philip
During a business trip to South Dakota, I was fortunate enough to set my person low temperature record of -17 below 0!
It was pretty jarring to walk outsite.. The weirdest part was that the air would freeze in your nose as you breath! Very freaky feeling. Fortunately for me, the temp warmed up and by the time I left at 3pm it was up to a comfortable 7 degrees! Didn’t even need my jacket as I walked out to the plane.
Last night I was in NYC and was trying to get some sleep before my early morning flight to South Dakota…
Around 3am EST… Some idiot set off a BOMB in Time Square.. It echoed through the buildings and since my hotel was one one block from where it happened, I was rattled awake..
Needless to say, after being jarred awake buy the echoing blast, it was a bit hard to get back to sleep. 😉
Fortunately, I’m now safely in Chicago as New York’s finest try to find out what happened.
I recently purchased a new HTC smartphone aka AT&T Tilt.. Needing support for Vista 64, I had to have mobile 6..
It’s amazing what hoops one will jump through to sync their phone to Outlook. 🙂
A feature I didn’t care for but end up loving is the included GPS.. I didn’t take “advantage” of AT&T’s offer for $10/month GPS service but after downloading Google Maps and Microsoft LiveSearch, I noticed that they both included GPS support. AWESOME!
My favorite so far is LiveSearch. The voice recognition for search, gas price and movie times based on your current location are a HUGE help.. As a weekly traveler this phone has allowed me to find MORE cool stuff to do in each city I visit..During my trip to New Orleans for the NBA All Star Game, I needed a USB cable to sync/charge my phone.. A quick search located a Radio Shack and Babbages within minutes of where I was..
Having an extra hour to kill on a recent trip to Washington, DC, I was able to find a nearby comic shop and some light reading material for the flight home was secured.
I know, I know.. I’ve given in to big brother.. It’s probably worse that we saw in “Enemy of the State”.. At least it’s a corporate phone.. 😉
Later SUCKAS!
Philip
