It almost seems like the US Government has totally forgotten the fact that THEY work for US, not the other way around.  Depending on how things go in the next year, maybe I’ll copy his platfrom and make a congressional run myself. 😉

Hollywood Toughman, Paul Newman dies at 83

One of Hollywoods toughest guys has passed away. Paul Newman died today at his home in CT.  I don’t think anyone will ever forget his performance during the “egg” scene in “Cool Hand Luke”. 

Newman, unlike most actors, walked the walk. He didn’t tell others what to do, he led by doing good deeds and inspiring others to follow.

Scientists compare cell phone cancer risks to Cigarettes

The MOAB (Mother of all Bailouts) has taken up so much discussion in the media that this interesting/scary story was lost in the noise.

US Scientists have alerted congress to the risks of using cell phones and their possible link to brain cancer.  They discussed that the older studies were flawed becuased the classified regular cell phone use as “once per week”.

Farting on Police Officer = Battery

This has to be one of the weirdest storys I’ve seen this month.

This man has such rotten bowels that his stink qualifies as battery!

  Jose Cruze, of West Virgina, was pulled over for a DUI.  During the traffic stop, Cruz moved close to the officer and the ripped a nice one on him.

Must have been pretty RANK to qualify for battery of an officer. LOL…

WOW! This was pretty shocking (No.. Not talking about the picture) to read.. Our finance system faces an implosion and Congress runs from the turmoil..

I probably one of the first to say that the government needs to stay out of things.. Let bad companies fail and let good companies succeed… Given that I was still a bit surprised to find this bloomberg article..

Plastic food containers linked to health risks

Read an interesting article today about by two Dartmouth researchers that show a potential link between plastic in food containers with increased risk of Diabetes and Heart Disease.
I’ve heard for years that you shouldn’t microwave food in plastic containers but this is the first “official” study that I’ve seen that validates this concern.

My wifes best friend, Brandy Roell a 30 year old rookie with the San Antonio Police Department was shot on Monday night while trying to issue a warrant for Alex Vargas.

Update 10/6/09:
Many of these stories have incorrect information, including the stories from 2009. After Brandy was shot and laying at the bottom of the stairs, she crawled out to the door of the house before being pulled to safety. I hate to see the news media take anything away from Brandy’s AMAZING story!
