Imagine my surprise when this HUGE box arrived addressed to me from the queen of tech, Cali Lewis!
Sweet! A giant box from Cali Lewis!
What could it be? It's very well padded!
Hmm.. Lots of packing material!
Something inside the bubble wrap looks familiar.
Ahh.. The prize.. The legendary LC-11 that I loaned to Cali during WordCamp 2009.

A few months ago, I was lucky enough to see the Spinal Tap: Unwigged and Unplugged in Houston, TX.. As a HUGE fan of “A Mighty Wind”, I went to the concert to see songs from that movie but left as a FAN of Spinal Tap. They guys were sooo good live. Great entertainers, great musicians and all around cool dudes. Here is a preview of the upcoming DVD which I will be pre-ordering MULTIPLE copies.

Heidi Montag is performing at the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant and on Saturday, Aug 22 did their first live webcast on their uStream.tv channel, Speidiweb using NewTek TriCaster.
I arrived at the Speidi Suite at 2:30pm. Setup the TriCaster and cameras and by 3pm we were streaming live to the web.
Before the webcast, Spencer needed a haircut. We decided to stream the haircut live to the web for thousands of fans to enjoy.

Wow.. This really has been a week of technology failures. First I get the Red Ring of Death on my XBox 360 now I’m challenged with the well known F11 error on our Whirpool Duet Washing Machine.
Overpriced and poorly designed
I’ve always purchased used washers and dryers and have great luck. Usually the used appliance will last 5 years or so.. 2 years ago, my wife wanted a Whirlpool Duet. She said it was more efficient and since appliances last so long, would save us TONS of cash over the life of the washing machine. Being almost a GRAND, I realized it would take MANY years to make up the difference between the cost of the Duet and a $200 used washing machine.
Imagine my surprise when after only 2 years of use, it starts “acting up” and gives us a error code. After doing a search on Bing.com for the F11 error code, I learned that this is a frequent problem with the Whirlpool Duet washers and requires a new CPU module which costs over $150. $150!! That is almost as much as I would have spent on a used washing machine…
We’ll I’m already into the Whirlpool Duet for a grand, and really didn’t have much choice other than to fix it.
Learn from this cautionary tale and beware of the latest new high tech, energy efficient, money saving appliances and go for the used “old school” unit that doesn’t look as cool but runs forever.

Yesterday, I had a free hour and decided to do a quick swim with the sea life at “The Dig”. Getting in the water I cut my ankle on a rock and was a little apprehenisve about swimming with sharks while I had a bleeding cut. Fortunatley, I wasn’t attacked. The 1 hour snorkeling tour was probably the best $79 I’ve spent in quite some time.

Ahh.. The life.. I’m here in Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas where TriCaster will be holding down the stream duties. Sunday August 16th will be the Presentation Show and for the first time in Miss Universe history, fans from around the globe will be able to watch the event LIVE..
Throughout the weekend, i’ll be posting pics. I’ll go ahead and warn you, I’m really can’t show behind the scenes contestant shots because that would all need to get approval from MUO.
